The Iowa Testing Barcode Extract allows an LEA (Local Education Agency) to send a file to the Iowa Testing Program, which returns barcode labels to be affixed to the student's ITBS or ITED answer sheet.

Report Logic
A record reports for each Primary student enrollment in the calendar and grade selected where the End Date is null or on or after the Effective Date. If there is not a Primary enrollment that meets the above criteria, a record reports for the most recent enrollment with a Service Type of S: Partial, if the Start Date is on or before and the End Date on or after the Effective Date.
Generating the Extract
- Select the Extract Type to be generated, in this case Iowa Testing Barcode.
- Enter an Effective Date in mmddyyyy format or by clicking the calendar icon and selecting a date. This field defaults to the current date.
- Select an Ad hoc Filter to limit the students in the report to those included in the filter.
- Select the appropriate checkboxes to indicate which Grades should be included in the report.
- Select the Format in which the report should generate. CSV, XML and HTML formats can be used to data review and verification, whereas State Format should be used when submitting data to the state.
- Indicate which Calendar(s) should be included in the report. All calendars selected should be in the same school year.
- Click Generate Extract to generate the report in the designated format.
