Release notes provide the applicable personnel the ability to review enhancements, modifications, and regulated changes prior to accepting an updated. It is advised that users review the release notes carefully and alert appropriate district staff to changes in Campus.

Academic Programs

Academic Programs– Students can be assigned the same program multiple times (SIS-130905)

Academic Program validation logic has been updated to allow the same academic program to be assigned multiple times to a student when start and end dates do not overlap. Progress monitoring, course plan requirements, alerts and program reports will continue to only look at current programs where an end date does not exist or the end date is dated with a future date.

Activity Registration

Activity Registration Updates (SIS-139836) [Enhancement] 

The following updates were made to Activity Registration.

  • Added the ability to manually add students to an Activity Roster if they are enrolled in the school associated with the activity.
  • Added the ability to remove students that were manually added from an Activity Roster.
  • Added the option to remove an activity from the Activity Monitor by deleting or cancelling the activity.
  • Product Description and Special Instructions fields can now be updated until registration is closed.
  • The Activity Image on "Step 4 - Link to Portal" on the Activity Builder can be updated through the Registration status.
  • The Activity Primary and Secondary Owners can now be updated until the activity is in a Closed status.
  • Miscellaneous cosmetic and performance improvements were made for an improved user experience.

Ad hoc Reporting

Some Users Getting Error Token when Searching by Students by Name (SIS-123249)

Some users were receiving an error token when attempting to search for students by name. This error was caused by an issue created when search attempted to filter more than 1000 search results at a time. This issue was corrected.

Blended Learning

Ad hoc Reporting - Blended Learning Term Summary View (SIS-139036) [Enhancement] 

New Blended Learning views have been added to the Query Wizard for the Student Data Type and the Course/Section Data Type.

For the Student Data Type, the *Blended Learning Term Summary* is available in the Student > Attendance folder. Use this view to find the total count of days a student is attending classes virtually and physically for a term.

For the Course/Section Data Type, the *Blended Learning Summary view* and *Blended Learning Summary (Overall)* are available in the Course > Section Information folder. Use these views to find the total count of students associated with particular Blended Learning groups.

Blended Learning - Copy Virtual Attendance Preferences (SIS-138817) [Enhancement] 

The Virtual Attendance Preferences can now be copied to other calendars using the Virtual Attendance Preferences Copier Wizard.

All selected virtual attendance preferences in the Source Calendar are copied to the Destination Calendar. If the Destination Calendar already has preferences selected, they are overwritten with this process.

Blended Learning - Ad hoc Reporting Participation Detail View (SIS-139040) [Enhancement] 

A Blended Learning Participation Detail view has been added to the Student > Attendance folder in the Filter Designer. This option includes fields to create reports using the participation records of students, whether added by a student check in, a parent check in or a teacher entry of participation.

Blended Learning - Archive Ability, Calendar Selection, Other Updates (SIS-139597) [Enhancement] 

Blended Learning Groups can now be archived. This can be only be done for groups that have an end date in the past; active groups cannot be archived. An _Archived_ field has been added to the Filter Designer for Student Data Types.

Other Updates to Blended Learning:

  • When the Campus toolbar has All Years selection, a delay in the selection of a group and a selection of a calendar no longer occurs.
  • The Group Start Date now displays on the Preview page when adjusting groups.
  • The error message for a missing value in the Number of Days in Rotation in New Learning Groups is the same message that displays in Adjust Learning Groups.
  • Multiple calendars can now be selected, instead of just one calendar, when adding students to groups automatically, adjusting a student's group assignment and adjusting a group day assignment. Instead of All Calendars, a Select All button is available. This multi-select option displays as open, allowing users to choose a few calendars at one time without having to open the field after each selection.
  • A message now displays when the Automatic Group Assignment process is running indicating that changes cannot be made until the process is complete.
  • The suffix field (Jr., III, etc. ) has been added to the Adjust Group Assignment student selection.
  • The Group Name field is limited to 100 characters.
  • When adjusting student groups, the start date for students must be on or after the start date of the group.

Blended Learning - Automatic Group and Membership Assignment (SIS-139704) [Enhancement] 

The original COVID-19 Attendance Process available for recording virtual attendance in the 2019-20 school year has been replaced with Virtual Attendance Preferences, along with several other tools for Blended Learning.

If your district was using the original COVID-19 Attendance Process for recording attendance for students in the 2020-21 school year BUT Blended Learning Groups have NOT been created, one Blended Learning Group will be created automatically and all students enrolled in a calendar with Enable Covid-19 assignment insert marked will be assigned to that new group.

In addition, that automatic group, COVID-19 Attendance, is also associated with every attendance day in the affected calendar, accounting for all dates prior to taking this update. Students in calendars that do not have the COVID-19 Attendance assignments enabled will not be placed in the group.

Blending Learning - Future Group Display (SIS-139714) [Enhancement] 

For students who do not have a current Blended Learning Group assignment but are assigned to a group with a future start date, the Blended Learning Group icon now displays in the student header. Hovering over the icon displays the start date for that group.

Note that future group assignments do not display on Student Attendance.

This applies to the classic navigation of Campus only.

Blended Learning Groups - Incorrect Virtual Indicator (SIS-139726)

A student's Blended Learning Group on Student Attendance and Daily Attendance displayed the correct color but an incorrect icon in some situations. This has been corrected.

Blended Learning Groups - Assigning Students to Same Household (SIS-139784)

When using the Adjust Blended Learning Groups, students in the same primary household were not assigned to the same learning group due to one of the students having multiple primary households. This caused each of the students to be assigned to new groups. This has been corrected. Students in the same household are assigned to the same learning group.

Blended Learning - Future Group Start Date (SIS-139791) [Enhancement] 

For students who are not currently assigned to a Blended Learning Group but are assigned to a group with a futures start date, that start date displays when hovering over the Blended Learning Group icon.

Students who have no assigned household or are in a primary household without an address are now included in the automatic group creation process.

Using an Ad hoc Filter to adjust Blended Learning Groups for a group of students resulted in an error. This has been corrected.

Blended Learning - Saving Virtual Attendance Preferences, Posting Virtual Attendance (SIS-139999)

Users updating Virtual Attendance Preferences for their districts were not saving correctly and certain options were not displaying on staging and sandbox sites. This has been corrected.

Blended Learning Group - Error when Adjusting Learning Groups (SIS-140086)

Adjusting a student's assigned learning group from one future start dated group to another future start dated group where the student's assignment date is on or prior to the new group start date resulted in an error message indicating the adjustment wasn't completed and the current assigned learning group was deleted.

This has been corrected. Adjusting a student's learning group now completes successfully.

Blended Learning - Instruction Updates (SIS-140114) [Enhancement] 

Class Serve and the Planner have been updated so that when viewing a roster of students, those whose group is Virtual on the selected day display with an indicator. THe following tools and reports have been updated to include Blended Learning Group information: Attendance list, Roster, Roster Report, Student details, Seating Chart, Student Groups, Message Center, and Planner.

Additionally, teachers can now enter dates in the future in the Attendance tab to see which students will be physical or virtual on a given day.

Campus Student and Campus Parent to show how students responded to Attendance check-ins on the Calendar > Attendance view.

SMB extracts were unable to be written to subfolders. This issue was corrected. Also, modifications were made to allow for duplicate extract names.

Data Extract Utility – Character Limit in SQL Query Field Truncating Queries (SIS-139793)

A character limit on the SQL Query field of the Data Extract Utility was truncating some large SQL queries. To correct this issue, the character limit for this field has been increased.

Events & Actions

Events and Actions–New events are not staying in an ‘Active’ status when saved (SIS-137862)

When creating a new event table, events were not staying active due to high database activity interference. This has been fixed.

To avoid future performance disruptions, Campus recommends saving the first active event for a table during off-peak hours when database activity is low. All subsequent events for that table can be saved at any point.

New Custom Lunch Count Checkboxes (SIS-135962) [Enhancement] 

The following new Attributes were added to the System Administration > Custom > Attribute/Dictionary > Section so that schools can add their own checkboxes to the Lunch Count area on a Section: LunchCount, MilkCount, AdultCount, Custom Count 1, Custom Count 2, and Custom Count 3. These attributes can be renamed to meet your district's needs and are included in the Lunch Counts Report.

As part of this change, the Lunch Counts report can now be found in Attendance > Reports in the Campus Index as well as in FRAM > Reports.

Grading Window Notifications (SIS-139891) [Enhancement] 

The Grading Window now includes the ability to send notifications to teachers alerting them that they have not posted scores for the Grading Window.

Notifications are customizable and can be sent to teachers (staff marked as Primary Teachers and Teachers on Staff History), to teacher's supervisors (marked on the District Assignment record), or both, and can include a report that lists missing grades (the same format that's included in the Grades Report).

Daily Health Log Stored Procedure (SIS-139588) [Enhancement] 

A stored procedure has been created to automatically set the status on the Daily Health Log tool and add a program flag for a student based on the student’s symptoms.

The stored procedure has the following parameters:

1. Status HS1: Sick - No Learning Advised

  • Student has a fever of 100.4 or higher or the student has more than one symptom.

2. Status HS2: Quarantine - Safe for Online Learning

  • Student has 14 calendar days or less since exposure or student has three days or less of no symptoms since HS1 status or student has ten days or less since positive test.

3. Status HS3: Approved for Classroom

  • Student has four days or more of no fever since HS1 status and ten or more days since last HS1 status with multiple symptoms or two negative tests at least a day apart.

Daily Health Log Update for Campus Parent Portal (SIS-139790)

Student's Food Service PINs are now available as a barcode in Campus Parent on the Today screen. Only one student's barcode can display at one time. Orders Report Update for Large Labels (SIS-139728) [Enhancement] 

The Orders report now includes the option to generate large labels in PDF format that can be used for labeling boxed/bagged food. To create the Large Label PDF, users must select "Labels - Large" in the Report Type dropdown list on the Orders Report editor. This report is designed to be printed on Avery 8395 Adhesive Name Badges. Eight labels print on each page. PIN and barcode information is included on the label if Point of Sale is enabled.

Group Membership Assignment and Campus Account Assignment Limited to Product Security Roles for Add User Account Tool (SIS-139902)

The Add User Account tool has been updated to only allow users with a Product Security Role of Student Information System (SIS) or Student Information System – Group Assignment to add Group Memberships to newly created user accounts or to create Campus user accounts. Users who have Add User Account tool rights but not one of these product security roles are limited to only making Campus Student and Campus parent accounts and cannot assign tool or calendar rights for users.

  • The version number for each extract type has been updated from 15.0 to 16.0.
  • Logic for First Entry Date into a School in the United States has been updated to report a value when the ESOL/Bilingual Program Participation Code reports a value of 1-7.
  • A new field, Language Instruction Education Program, has been added. This field reports the EL Service Type that falls within the start and end dates entered on the Extract editor when the ESOL/Bilingual Program Participation Code reports a value of 1, 2, 3 or 7.   • The ESOL/Bilingual Student Contact Minutes now reports a value when the ESOL/Bilingual Program Participation Code reports a value of 1, 2, 3 or 7.

KCAN Extract

  • The version number for each extract type has been updated from 15.0 to 16.0.
  • The Migrant Student field now reports a value of 1 when the student has a migrant record that falls within the current school year's enrollment and within the effective date of the report.
  • The Single Parent Student now reports a value of 0 or 1, and when the last character of the KCC Identifier field is F, C, L or X.
  • The KCC Identifier field no longer uses the HistoryGovScore as a valid value.
  • The Course Section and Local Course ID fields no longer use the HistoryGovScore as a valid value.
  • The Course Status field no longer reports a value of 70.
  • Field 25 is now Work-based Learning. This reports a value of 1 when the Work-based Learning field is marked on the Course editor.
  • Fields History/Gov Assessment Task 1 Score (field 25), History/Gov Assessment Task 2 Score (field 26) and History/Gov Assessment Task 3 Score (field 27) have been removed.
  • Logic for the First Instruction Date (field 30) and Last Instruction Date (field 31) field has been updated to reference the Migrant Student and KCC Identifier fields.

Student Enrollment

The state has added a new value, 05: Transfer using unsafe school provision, to the Special Transfer options. This is used when a student transfers from one district to another district. This value is selected in the State Reporting Enrollment fields for a student. Districts should add this value to the Enrollment > Special Transfer attribute if they want to report it.

Nevada - Enrollment Data Cleanup for CIT and Homeless Served (SIS-139573)

The CIT and Homeless Served by Subgrants fields on the Enrollments tool were removed in a previous release. However, the “Copies Forward” option on the attribute dictionary was not disabled and data was rolled forward. This case clears the Copies Forward option and removes data that was rolled forward.

  • These fields have been removed: Grade (field 5), ELO Description (field 6), ELO Credit Bearing (field 9), and ELO Number of Days per Week (field 10)
  • These fields have been added: ELO Type, ELO Career Cluster, Off Campus ELO, Were ELO Credits Earned, ELO Credits Earned, ELO Credits Attempted.
  • New Course Types are available: CE - Career Exploration, ROB - Robotics, WBLE - Work Based Learning - External Partner, WBLI - Work Based Learning - In School.
  • New Checkboxes have been added to Course Information - Off Campus ELO and ELO Career Cluster.

The following changes were made to the Attribute Dictionary based on changes from the STARS Manual for the 2020-21 school year.

  • New STARS Code "98 Latin" was added.
  • The following new Non-compliance Reason codes were added.
    • 30 No Service Provider Available to complete Eval
    • 31 Schedule issues/delays - Eval or IEP w Parent
    • 32 60th day/3rd bday on weekend/holiday/other closure
    • 33 Parent request delay in IEP meeting
  • New State Event Code 70 Returned to CYFD for excessive absenteeism was added.
  • The following new State Resolution codes were added.
    • 10 Restraint
    • 11 Seclusion
    • 12 Police called instead of restraint/seclusion
  • The follwoing Years US Schools codes were added.
  • 2 In 3rd consecutive yr attends US Schools
  • 3 In 4th consecutive yr attends US Schools
  • 4 In 5th consecutive yr attends US Schools

Ohio IEP Updates (SIS-137558)

Several updates have been made to the Ohio Individual Education Plan:

  • additional validation has been added to the Exemptions editor.
  • a bug where a person completing an amendment would override all previous people who made amendment modifications has been fixed. The name of the person who last modified each editor displays regardless of who completes the amendment.

Ohio - Student Assessment (FA) Update (SIS-140220)

Field logic for the Score Not Reported field in the FA extract has been updated to report as follows for the GY assessment:

* If Score Not Reported is a value other than * or X, reports as ***.

* Otherwise, logic looks at the Assessment Code. If it begins with 3 alphabetic characters, the field reports differently based on when the student took the test. If that student's result is A, N, or P and the Test Date is on or after 4/1/2020, the Result reports. If the student's result is not A, N, or P and the Test Date is before 4/1/2020, the Scale Score reports. If the Assessment Code ends with two alphabetic characters, field logic is unchanged.

Tennessee - Distance Learning & EIS 049 Student Attendance (SIS-139326)

The attendance State Code of D: Distance Learning has been deactivated and references to this code have been removed from the Daily Code report. Additionally, the EIS 049 extract has been udpated so that if the student has not been marked as absent for more than 50% of their day, is scheduled on a Day marked as Instruction, and is sechedules into a Blended Learning goup on that day, an Attendance code of D reorts.

Texas– Updates to Unique ID Import tool (SIS-124420)

Logic has been updated to the Unique ID Import tool. After the import is complete, a return file will generate to include a count of lines where the Unique ID was added to student records and a count of lines where the Unique ID was not added to student records. Unique ID’s not added, due to an error, will be line item listed with the error and the reason for the error included.

Virginia - Student Record Collection (SRC) Updates (SIS-138595)

Multiple changes were made to the Student Record Collection for the 2020-21 school year.

  • The following fields are now required for all students for Fall reporting: Field 64 Address 1, field 65 Address 2, and field 66 Zip Code.
  • Field 126 is now Head Start Provider Code.
  • Field 127 is now Regional Student Percent of Time.
  • Field 128 is now Remote Instruction Percent of Time.
  • Field 129 is now Internet Access for Remote Learning.
  • Field 130 is now Device Access for Remote Learning.
  • Field 131 is now Parental Remote Learning Decision.
  • Fields 132-138 are now filler fields and report blank.
  • First Name is now field 139, Middle name is field 140, and Last Name is field 141.
  • The PK Funding Code dropdown list (in State Reporting fields) was updated to report in field 108 PK Funding Source. The following changes were made also made to this field.
    • Code: 12 VPI (Pilot for Three-Year-Old Students) was added.
    • Code: 13 Mixed Delivery Grant Program (administered by VECF) was added.
    • Code: 4 VPI+ was inactivated.
  • The Digital Equity tool in the Program Participation's State Programs (Student Information > Program Participation > State Programs) is now available.
  • New fields called "Head Start Provider" and "Regional Student Percent of Time" were added the Enrollments > State Reporting Fields.
