Activity Registration

Activity Registration Updates (SIS-147480)

The following changes were made for the Activity Registration tool.

  • Users could create a new proposed activity in the Activity Dashboard without an Activity Owner (Primary) which is a required field. This issue was corrected.
  • When adding multiple students via the manual add function in the Activity Roster, if a user also deleted a student for saving their changes, Campus removed more than the selected student. This issue was corrected.
  • When an Activity End Date was changed, if the Registration Close Date was earlier than the Activity End Date, Campus was requiring the Registration Close Date to be the current date or later when changes were saved. This issue was corrected.
  • When a proposer viewed their proposed activity when it was the In Review status and the reviewer also viewing the proposed activity, the Close button was not working for the proposer. This issue was corrected.
  • The banner that displays when a school does not have the Activity Registration Section turned on in Portal Preferences was updated to remove the school name and only display "The school has not enabled access to the Activity Registration Viewing Tool."
  • In the Activity Builder and Activity Proposal tools, if a student in the selected Ad hoc filter (built using the Selection Editor Filter type only) did not have an active enrollment, the Preview Participants panel included an expandable section without a title at the top of the list. This issue was corrected. Instead of being blank, the expandable section is now titled "Students with no active enrollment in associated school(s)."

When copying an activity in the Activity Monitor and Activity Dashboard,

  • the Estimated Total on the Preview Participants Panel (Step 2. Build Roster), was incorrect. This issue was corrected.
  • the Categories field (Step 4. Link to Portal) was not updating correctly when schools were removed or changed on Step 1. This issue was corrected.
  • changes were made to Step 4 to compare the schools associated to the Activity with the Category values to ensure there is at least one Category per school.
  • Ad hoc filters with a type of "attendanceDialer" can no longer be selected on step 2. This change was also made to the Activity Builder.

Update for Changing Inventory Limits (SIS-147671) [Enhancement] 

Districts can now update the "Track Inventory" and "Inventory Limit" fields on Step 4 of the Activity Builder when the activity is in the "Active - Registration Open" status. Before this change, those fields could not be edited once the activity was active. Now, those fields can be changed until the activity is in a "Registration Closed" or "Active - Registration Closed" status.

Ad hoc Reporting

Ad Hoc Filter Name Greater than 50 Characters Generating Error (SIS-142706)

Ad hoc filters with a name greater than 50 characters were producing an error upon generation of the filter. To correct this issue, the Filter Name field has been updated not allow names greater than 50 characters.

Filter Designer - Available GPA Fields (SIS-147612) [Enhancement] 

New fields have been added to the Learner Portfolio > Class Rank with Custom Cum GPA options. This change allows the Class Rank to show for all GPA calculations, regardless of the Calculation Type that was selected when the Custom GPA was created.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning Groups - Redistribute Groups (SIS-145807) (SIS-146548) [Enhancement] 

A new Redistribute option is available with the Manage Blended Learning Groups tool. Redistribute can be used after the start of the school year or at the beginning of a new term to re-balance groups, to move students from groups that are no longer used into active groups, or to address a temporary shift in learning (extended natural disasters, for example).

An issue with the Add button on the student's Blended Learning Group Assignments tool displaying when the browser is zoomed to more 100% has also been addressed.

Blended Learning Groups - End Date Behavior (SIS-146921) [Enhancement] 

A new System Preference called Cascade Enrollment End Date to Blended Learning Group Assignment End Date is now available. This preference determines whether the End Date entered on a student's Enrollment record should also apply to the student's Blended Learning Group Assignment.

  • When set to Yes, when a user adds an End Date to a student's Enrollment record and saves, the student's Blended Learning Group Assignment is updated to end on that same End Date.
  • When set to No, the student's Blended Learning Group Assignment is NOT ended when the Enrollment record is ended.

Blended Learning Group Assignments - Duplicate Records (SIS-147171)

To eliminate the duplication of Blended Learning Groups being saved for students due to slow performance, after selecting the save button, the side panel and save buttons are now disabled as the system processes the newly added Blended Learning Group. Once the process is complete, the tools are re-enabled.

Campus Instruction

Assignments in the Grade Book (SIS-144863)

Previously, some teachers with over 250 sections could not open an existing assignment or create a new one. This has been corrected.

Assignments Updates (SIS-145728) [Enhancement] 

The following updates have been made to assignments.

Applying Assignment Updates Across Sections

When teachers make changes to an assignment that is aligned to multiple sections, they now have the option to apply those changes to other aligned sections or not. Changes are grouped by Dates, Grading, and Content, which includes the Summary and any attached content or tasks. After saving a change, a pop-up displays, allowing the teacher to mark which changes should be applied to which sections.

Adding an Assignment to a Section Group

Teachers now have the option of creating an assignment in the Grade Book when viewing the Grade Book for a Section Group. All sections in the Section Group are added to the assignment. The Grading options available are those that apply to all of the assignment's sections. Teachers can modify dates and grading setup by clicking Add/Edit in the Sections list.

New - Default Scoring Settings in Categories

The Categories editor has been updated so that teachers can set default scoring information by category. For each category, teachers can select a Default Scoring Type and enter Default Points and a Default Multiplier, for all instances of the category via the table header or individually by section. When a category is selected on the assignment editor, the scoring type, points, and multiplier populate based on the default options established.

Multi-Aligned Assignments Issue

Previously, if a teacher created an assignment with multiple alignments, individualized it, scored it, and then tried to remove one of the alignments, an error occurred. This has been corrected.

Copying & Duplicating Assignments

Teachers now have the option of editing the student groups and individualization of an assignment as part of the copy process. Additionally, if a teacher changes the title of a duplicated assignment, the abbreviation is automatically updated.

Curriculum Copier Error (SIS-146783)

Control Center - New Look (SIS-147319) [Enhancement] 

The toggle that allowed teachers to switch back and forth from the new design of the Control Center to the old has been removed. Only the new design, which includes a customizable visual display and new features such as Student Questions and Engagement Check-In, is available going forward.

Census

Saving Local Student Numbers and State IDs (SIS-147539)

After taking the Campus.2120 Release, users reported not being able to save local student numbers. This has been corrected.

As part of this correction, the following issues have also been addressed:

  • Special characters are now allowed in the User Group Name, User Name and Student Number. Approved special characters are: ~, `, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, ( ), -, _, +, =, { }, [ ], |, \, ',', < >, /, ?, ", ', :, ;
  • Large values (up to 15 characters) can now be entered for a Student Number.
  • The ability to generate Student numbers for new and existing students through the Student Locator now functions correctly.

Mailing Labels from Student Summary (SIS-147888)

Printing a Mailing Label or Envelope from the Student Summary Reports or from the Roster Label Report in Campus Instruction was not including the student's name as part of the address. This has been corrected.

Custom Outline Links Preventing User Deletion (SIS-142813)

Administrative users with proper tool rights were receiving an error when attempting to delete users with specific tool rights (rights assigned not by a Product Security Role) due to a rights issue caused by custom outline links. This issue was corrected.

Fees

New Fee Preferences Tool (SIS-145719) [Enhancement] 

A new Fee Preferences tool is now available for districts to control whether Fees display in Campus Parent and Campus Student and replaces the Fees, Fees Comments, and Displayed Text > Fees Display Options (found in System Administration > Portal > Preferences > Display Options). Districts can use the tool to define whether fees display for future, active, or past years as well as whether comments display. Fee Preferences are unique for each school. User and Group tool rights that were used for the Display Options tool have been applied to the new Fee Preferences tool.

Health Office Calendar Logic Update (SIS-147683)

There was a logic issue when accessing the Health Office Calendar via Health > Health Office Calendar. This has been fixed with the following logic updates:

The list of staff that populates the Recorded by dropdown uses the HOV date to determine staff.

The Health Credential and License that displays in the Recorded by dropdown uses the HOV date.

The District Assignment Start and End Dates on a saved Health Office Visit record use the current date to determine whether or not the District Assignment is active.

Special Ed Tool Rights Fix (SIS-147461)

With this bug, the user was required to be an active Team Member for the student AND have tool rights to the Documents tool in order to view and click on the IEP icon on a Roster. This has been corrected that users only need to be an active member to view an IEP via the Roster.

Messenger

Messenger (Email)– Sub reports not displaying in message preview (SIS-146061)

A fix has been made to ‘Message Recipient Preview’ in Message Builder for Email and Inbox messages that include a sub-report. After selecting Preview/Send, if the user selected the Preview icon (to see the message from the "review recipients" view) and the message included a sub-report, the sub-report did not display. Only the Preview option was affected, sub-reports displayed as expected in the recipient’s email or inbox.

This has been corrected; sub-reports now display in the message preview

Payments Migration Update (SIS-147891)

Changes were made to improve the transition for districts migrating to the new payments platform. For some districts, the first deposit was being declined, because of a negative value. Changes were made to assist the first deposit.

Course Registration and No Show Enrollments (SIS-126072)

Students who have an Enrollment record marked as No show in the current school year and an Enrollment record NOT marked as No Show in a future school year now have access to Course Registration in Campus Student. A new feature called the "Public Store" is now available for all districts that use Campus Payments and have migrated to the new payments platform. The Public Store is a website where anyone can shop for goods or services from your district. For example, your district might want to create a Public Store to sell spirit wear, tickets to events, or items for booster club fundraising. Please note, purchase limits do not apply to items in the Public Store and the Orders Report does NOT include Public Store purchases. The Student Needs, Student Program Associations, and Student Special Education Program Associations resources were previously not sending records for districts with multiple credentials in a school year. The triggering logic for these resources has been updated to look at the District Number field on the Ed-Fi Connection Credentials if the enrollment Resident District does not match the State District Number on the District Information tab.

Districts with multiple credentials for a school year need to populate the District Number field within the Ed-Fi Connection Credentials in order to report data correctly. The District Number field must be 9 characters in length. It is crucial that trailing zeroes are added to the number to make it 9 characters long. Any leading zeros will be removed by the UI.

A resync needs to be performed on the Student Needs, Student Program Associations, and Student Special Education Program Associations resources with this update.

BIE- Release of BIE Assessment Data Mart (129892) [Enhancement] 

The BIE Assessment Data Mart tool is now available in both BIE District Edition and NASIS State Edition sites. Data Marts are stored collections of various student data records that districts and states use to federally report. The BIE Assessment Data Mart is a collection of student assessment data found on the student's assessment record in Student Information > General. Data collected and stored in this data mart can be reviewed in two ways:

1. Assessment Data Mart Report - information is reported in PDF (summary) or CSV (detail) format and must be generated individually for each school.

2. Assessment Report (Ad Hoc Reporting) - information for one to multiple schools displays on a pivot table where data can be analyzed using drill-down methods, sorting features, filter options and graphs to summarize the results.

All Data Marts must follow a two-step Validation and Authentication process. The validation process is critical for reviewing and correcting student data records before they are authenticated for federal reporting submission. The authentication process assumes all data reviewed in validation is correct and is used for final report sign-off and submission.

Data marts do not automatically update; therefore, this process must be completed on an annual basis.
