The Homeless tool records basic homeless information. The list of homeless records is sorted by Start Date.
Homeless is defined as children and youth who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Arizona has defined some fields that are unique to the state of Arizona. These fields are further described below. For information on all other fields, please see the Homeless article.

Primary Night Time Residence
Primary Nighttime Residence indicates the student's living situation at the time the student was identified as Homeless.

Sheltered
Student living in temporary shelters, such as homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, or transitional housing programs, or temporary foster care placement.

Doubled Up
Student temporarily sharing the housing of other persons (friends or relatives) due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason.

Unsheltered
Student living in abandoned buildings, campgrounds and vehicles, inadequate trailer parks, bus and train stations, substandard housing or abandoned in the hospital.

Hotel/Motel
Student temporarily living in a hotel or motel due to lack of alternate adequate accommodation.
Homeless status can be assigned to a student at any point of the enrollment period. If a student is determined Homeless at any point in the school year, the student will report as Homeless for the entire enrollment period. The amount of time the student is deemed homeless is not considered.
Users should be aware that Start and End Dates for Homeless statuses are reported to the state as well.
