Activity Registration

New Notification when Activity Registration is not Available (SIS-150028) [Enhancement] 

An information banner was added to the page header on Activity Registration screens when Campus Payments is not enabled to notify users that Activity Registration is not currently available.

Activity Registration Maintenance (SIS-150293)

The following improvements were made to Activity Registration.

  • When copying an activity, users can now select future dated forms as long as the copied activity has dates within the same range as the form.
  • When moving between the Activity Monitor and the Activity Dashboard in the new look and feel of Campus, the filters were not being cleared. This issue was corrected.
  • When creating a new activity, the second screen of the Activity Builder was not displaying the Ad Hoc filters in alphabetical order. This issue was corrected.
  • In some instances, inactive activities were displaying as active. This issue was corrected. As part of this change, inactive Categories in the Activity Builder now display with red text that says ""Inactive."" Also, when users try to save an activity when all categories are inactive, the following error message will display: ""Product failed to save. No active categories found.""

Emergency Contact Information on the Roster (SIS-150609) [Enhancement] 

Emergency contact information for each student is now available on the Roster screen. This feature allows districts to quickly access contact information that is already stored in Campus. The new button for viewing emergency contact information displays next to each student's name.

Ad hoc Reporting

Ad hoc Filter Designer - Immigrant Field (SIS-124913)

Previously, users who had sufficient tool rights to view the Immigrant field on Enrollments could not generate an Ad hoc filter that included that field without having an SIS security role. This has been corrected.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning Groups - Adjust Blended Learning Group Updates (SIS-149681) [Enhancement] 

The following modifications have been made to the Adjust Blended Learning Groups tool:

  • Validation text and associated error messages now match the validation text and associated error messages on the Adjust Student Group Assignment tool when entering Start and End Dates.
  • All groups can now be selected when the list of available groups is long. Previously, groups listed in the second half of the list could not be selected.
  • Informational text has been modified to explain the logic used when adjusting group start and end dates.
  • Remote Day Records are not created for days that are after the group end date.
  • Future groups can now be selected for adjustment.

Campus Instruction

Grading Tool Tip and Drop Lowest Score (SIS-100588)

Previously, if a teacher had turned on Drop Lowest Score for a category and then hovered over the In Progress column in the Grade Book to view the grade tool tip, the category weights were not legible in the tool tip. This has been corrected.

Campus Student/Parent

New - Enhanced Portal Preferences (SIS-131349) [Enhancement] 

The Portal Preferences have been updated to allow schools to set display options by calendar and schedule structure to determine what data is available in the Campus Student and Campus Parent Portals.

Display options are managed in templates, which users then assign to the appropriate calendars. For example, a school may have templates for their main, ALC, and summer calendars. These templates can be reused year after year by assigning them to new calendars as they are created. From the Display Options tab, click New Template to create one. New templates can also be created by opening an existing template, clicking the arrow button next to Save and choosing Save & Copy. You can then start a new template based on the options selected for another.

In the main view of the Display Options tab, access Template options by clicking the name of the template in the first column. Access Calendar (Structure) options by clicking the name of the calendar (structure) in the second column. The current Status, indicating if the access to the portals is enabled or disabled, displays, as well as Enabled Terms.

Template Options

To view template information, click on the name of the template. Each template needs a name and may have a description. Within a template, all of the Display Options controlling which tools and data display for parents and students display. In fact, with this release, users also have the option of setting display options differently for Campus Parent and Campus Student. For example, an elementary school may want to give parents access to more data and tools than students.

Calendar and Term Settings

Click on a calendar to view additional information and options for enabling data. Calendar options are also available by clicking the Manage Calendars button when viewing a template. From here, indicate whether the portals should be enabled for this calendar. A new option allows users to keep access to the calendar's data enabled once the active school year has been changed at the end of the year. This option may be helpful to keep data such as grades available to parents and students once the calendar has ended. Data can also be enabled by specific Terms, with options to automatically enable terms based on Term Dates.

Existing Data

With this release, currently established display options have been converted into a template that is assigned to all calendars, to simplify the transition. If desired, users can modify the automatically-created template or create new ones to assign to their calendars.

Additional Changes

  • Users can now view historical report cards and schedules in the future school year on the portals.
  • Added a display option to hide period times from displaying on student schedules.
  • The existing option on the Student Grades tab to 'View as Portal User' has been replaced by options to 'View as Campus Student' and 'View as Campus Parent.'
  • Students can now view an assignment in the term it is assigned, even if it isn't due until the next term and the next term is not enabled.

With this enhancement, the following additional issues were addressed:

  • Students could view future schedules when they had not been enabled by manipulating the URL.
  • Students could see websites for schools in which they were not enrolled if their guardian was enrolled in the school.
  • Students would receive notifications for attendance even if that tool was disabled, if the student had multiple enrollments. Additionally, Kentucky users received a notification for Unknown attendance events when the related attendance preference was disabled.

Census

Census– Comments Field in Resources > School Disrupts District Assignment Save Button (SIS-105024)

In the rare occurrence a carriage return followed a numeric value in the comments section of Resources > School, the Save button on the District Assignments tab was disrupted. This has been fixed.

Mailing Labels Report - Calendar Selection (SIS-150232)

Moving from Course/Section options to Grade Level options caused the calendar selection option to not load. This has been corrected.

Census – Enrollment (Grade) Field In Household Not Populating (SIS-69732)

When viewing a summary of the student’s household, the Enrollment (Grade) column was not displaying information for household members who have a school enrollment. This has been fixed.

Census – Secondary Household Displayed as Primary Household for Students (SIS-78904)

If a student’s membership to their primary household was end dated and the student was later added back to the household with a secondary household membership, the Relationships tab still displayed the household as primary for the student. This has been fixed.

Census – ID History (tab) Comment Column Displaying Wrong Value (SIS-87217)

The ID History tab (Census) is used to track changes made to person ID fields (Student ID, Staff ID, etc.) in Campus. When a change is made to an ID field, the Comments column of ID History displays the location of where the change was made. Previously, the value displaying here was incorrect. This has been fixed.

Census – Address Change Report Descriptor Update (SIS-88079)

A correction has been made to the descriptor in the Address Change report’s editor to match current logic. Prior to generating the report, a school must be selected from the Campus toolbar. If a school is not selected, no students will report.

Census – Search Option Not Displaying in Droplist of Birth Country Field (SIS-90676)

The search option for the Birth Country droplist field in Census was not displaying. This has been fixed. The search option displays at the top of the droplist for easier field selection.

Census – Birth Verification Not Respecting ‘Required’ Field Logic in Attribute Dictionary (SIS-96276)

When ‘Required’ was selected for Birth Verification or Birth Country in the Attribute/Dictionary, the field in Census was not respecting the logic and continued to display as a non-required field. This has been fixed.

Census – Census Wizard Household Location End Dates Updated (SIS-98072)

An issue in ‘Step 2: Editing Household Data’ section of the Census Wizard was allowing for Household Locations to be saved even if the End Date came before the Start date. This has been fixed.

End dates must be on or after the Start date. A Start date must be entered if an End date is provided.

Enrollments

Enrollments - Valid Structure IDs and Calendar IDs (SIS-147809)

Logic now exists that verifies the correct Structure ID (visible on the Schedule Structure Detail editor) is associated with the selected Calendar ID (visible on the Calendar Information editor). If there is a mismatch, an error message displays indicating the two IDs do not match. When this occurs, the enrollment cannot be saved and Campus Support needs to be contacted to correct the issue.

OneRoster - Class and Student Cache Updates (SIS-149930) [Enhancement] 

The Class cache has been updated to refresh hourly on the same timeline as the Student cache.

Both the Student and Class caches have been updated to refresh when any of the following changes are made, if there is not a refresh in the queue when changes are made:

  • Switching the Active year.
  • Modifying External LMS Exclude for a calendar, course, section, enrollment, or grade level.
  • Creating, deleting, or updating any of the listed fields following records:
    • Enrollments (Grade Level, No Show)
    • Courses (Active, Homeroom, Name, Number, Subject, Core Subject, SCED Subject Area, SCED Course ID)
    • Section (Number, Room, Teacher Display Name)
    • User Account (Disabled, Homepage, Username, Expiration Date)

Additionally, the Class cache has been updated to check the generated class name (course name, number, section number), trialID, calendarID, calendar start/end dates, and room location when making updates. Varchar fields are now truncated to meet OneRoster definitions. Additionally, both the Student and Class caches have been updated to support refreshing for a list of Section IDs.

90/10 Deposit Request Rule Removed (SIS-148823) [Enhancement] 

The deposit process was updated to deposit 100% of the district's available balance. All eligible transactions are now deposited whether an account balance is positive or negative. Previously, the deposit process only used 90% of the available balance in the deposit request.

Note: If a district has multiple accounts with some negative balances, none of the deposits can exceed the available balance (even if the sum of the deposits nets out to the available balance). After the negative deposits complete, the remainder is available to be deposited.

Deposit Request Report Update (SIS-150263)

In some cases, the Deposit Request Report had an incorrect Grand Total because it was not including rollover amounts. This issue was corrected and now the Grand Total includes rollover amounts from the previous linked deposit. Before it is included, the rollover amount is rounded to the nearest penny. The excess amount is subtracted and applied to the next deposit.

The Deposit Request Report was also incorrectly rounding the transaction fees from five decimal places to two decimal places, causing totals to be off. This was also corrected.

Kentucky - Preschool Enrollment Count Report Updates (SIS-148054)

The following updates have been made to the Preschool Enrollment Count Report:

  • The naming convention for Preschool Enrollment Count reports generated in CSV format have been updated to use the following pattern: ###PreschoolChildCountXXYY.csv. ### populates with the District Number and XX populates based on the report type: FS for Fall Summary, FD for Fall Detail, SS for Spring Summary, and SD for Spring Detail.
  • Partial enrollments are no longer reported.
  • The extract editor has been updated to have users first select a Count Period, then Count Date, and then Report Type. The option to submit the extract to the Batch Queue has also been added to the extract editor.
  • The validation report has been created as a stand alone extract.
  • Warning 1 to 'Districts without Preschool Data.'
  • The following fields in the Summary extract have been updated:

The following logic has been applied to the Student Attendance Summary report:

  • One record per PK-12 student will report per school.
  • If a student has an enrollment into more than one calendar in the same school during the reporting window, attendance calculations will be combined to report as one record.
  • If a student has an enrollment in more than one calendar in different schools during the reporting window, one record for each school reports.

This logic applies to: Days Present, Days Enrolled, Days Absent Without An Excuse, Number of Scheduled Periods, Number of Scheduled Periods Attended, Number of Scheduled Periods Excused

  • Attendance calculation logic has been updated for Days Present and Days Absent Without an Excuse reporting elements.

Every Local End Status code created at the district level must be mapped to a state level code using the End Status Type Editor. System requirements will prevent unmapped codes from being saved.

New York Programs Fact End Date Logic Update (SIS-148634)

Previously, there was an issue with the Programs Fact extract incorrectly reporting End Dates. The logic for reporting has been updated to correct this issue:

The program is reported if the Eligibility is either Free or Reduced, the Certified Type is NOT Declined, Denied, or Did Not Apply, AND the date range is either the most recent record from the current year or the most recent eligibility record in the previous two years.

The Beginning Date reports as either the Start Date of the Eligibility record, if in the current year, OR the student's earliest Enrollment Start Date for the year if the Eligibility record starts before the date.

The Ending Date reports as the End Date of the Eligibility record, if in the current year. Otherwise, "Null" reports.

Pennsylvania - PIMS Extracts and Special Education Extracts Updates (SIS-146792)

PIMS Extracts that reported special education information now exist only in the Special Education Extracts. This includes the PIMS Special Education Snapshot, the PIMS Special Education Act 16, and the PIMS Student Snapshot.

The PIMS Special Education Events Extract and PIMS Special Education Services Extract have been completely removed as they are no longer collected by the state.

The Special Education Tables have been renamed to Special Education Extracts and include the moved PIMS Extracts. With this move, the July Special Education Table and the July Student Snapshot have been removed and can be generated when choosing the Reporting Period from the respective extract. Note that the PIMS Student Snapshot Template is now the Special Education Student Template, and the PIMS Special Education Snapshot is now the Special Education Template.

Virginia Student Records Collection Fix (SIS-150557)

Logic on the Date of Entry into U.S. Schools field on the Virginia Student Records Collection has been updated to report only when the SLIFE Status Flag is marked Yes on the EL tool OR the Immigrant field on the State Reported Enrollments fields is marked Yes. Otherwise, this field reports as blank.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Resync Logic Update (SIS-134111)

The Resync logic for the following resources has been updated to not perform a clean-up and to rely on the identity mappings when multiple schools have the same entity ID:

  • Student Program Associations

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Graduation Plans Update (SIS-148546)

A checkbox has been added to the Graduation Plans resource preferences to allow the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to report data by school.

The educationOrganizationReference in the Graduation Plans resource has been updated to report the school Ed-Fi ID for Department of Corrections schools only when the 'Report By School' checkbox is marked.

The triggers for Graduation Plans resource has been updated to send if the School droplist is populated or changed on the graduation program.

The Academic Subject Descriptors mappings in the Graduation Plans resource preferences have been updated to have the Credit Group in parentheses.

Wisconsin Special Ed Updates (SIS-149259)

Several updates have been made to the Wisconsin Special Education area.

Start Date validation has been added to both the IEP and ISP. A warning message displays if the Start Date is the same or before the Meeting Date.

The "Progress toward the annual goal" field on the Progress Report is now required.

The following fields had been added to Ad hoc for the Progress Report and the Interim Review of IEP Goals (1-6):

  • createdByName
  • modifiedByID
  • modifiedDate
  • modifiedByName

Several verbiage updates have been made to the print and UI of Eligibility Report.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Discipline Actions Error Message Update (SIS-149356)

The unknown transformation error message occurring on the Discipline Actions resource when the resolution start date is not populated for resolution descriptors of 3 or 4 has been updated to read the following: The resolution (resolutionID xxxxxx) does not have a Start Date.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Immunizations Import Update (SIS-150190)

The Ed-Fi Import Tool has been updated to allow immunizations to be imported for all students by one or more schools or by all schools.

The Ed-Fi Import Tool has also been updated to show an error in the Ed-Fi Error Log for immunization records that are in Infinite Campus but not in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.

Wyoming – SIF 2021-2022 Updates (SIS-146751)

The following SIF updates were made:

  • Logic for the StudentPersonal/UnaccompaniedYouth element has been updated to report Yes when the student’s enrollment with the latest start date is less than or equal to the current date with the Unaccompanied Youth checkbox checked.
  • Logic for the StudentPersonal/FosterCare element has been updated to report based on the current status of the current date and not based on any student enrollment date.
  • Logic for the StudentPersonal/StudentMilitaryConnected element has been updated to report based on the current status of the current date and not based on any student enrollment date.
  • Logic for the StudentSectionEnrollment/ExtendedElement/MediumOfInstruction element has been updated to report based on the attribute Default Value when present and to report when the student’s enrollment has a future Start Date and to report when the course has a null State Code.
  • Logic for the StudentSectionEnrollment/ExtendedElement/InstructionalLevel has been updated to include the following:
    • InstructionLevel must report even when the student's enrollment has a future Start Date.
    • InstructionLevel must report when the course has a null State Code
  • Logic for the SectionInfo/ExtendedElement/InstructionalLevel element has been updated to report based on the attribute Default Value when present.
  • The efficiency of the SIF batch for the StudentSectionEnrollment object has been improved.
  • Logic for the StudentSectionEnrollment/EntryDate has been updated to include the following:
    • When roster Start Date is Null, reports enrollment Start Date when enrollment is active on or inside the section's term dates.
  • Logic for the StudentSectionEnrollment/ExitDate has been updated to include the following:
    • When roster End Date is Null, reports enrollment End Date when enrollment is active on or inside the section's term dates.

Wyoming - Attendance State Code (SIS-148695)

The State Code field has been added to the Attendance Codes tool. The only option currently available in this State Code field is RL: Remote Learning.

Wyoming IEP Updates (SIS-149644) [Enhancement] 

Several updates have been made to the Wyoming IEP. The Start Date on the Education Plan editor no longer auto-populates. A new field, Projected End Date, has been added to the Emergency Model Form I-4 editor and the Projected Start Date field is no longer required.

Wyoming - WDE-638 Course File Update (SIS-150091)

The WDE-638 Course Inventory File has been updated so that the Content Area field reports the Content Area selected on the Course. If null, reports the default value if selected. Otherwise reports as null. Additionally, the CTE field has been removed from the extract.

The Description for the Stat End Status Code 140 has been updated to Student known to have dropped out.
