Registering for an Activity Added Enrollment End Date (SIS-157486)

If a student does not have an Enrollment End Date and has registered for an activity, an End Date of the last date of the calendar will be added in some scenarios.

Activity Registration - Manual Add Drop-List (SIS-157694)

The Manual Add dropdown on the Activity Roster now includes past and future enrollments in addition to current enrollments.

Past and future enrollments are those enrollments that occurred within the last 90 days or are occurring within 90 days in the future of the current date.

Ad hoc Reporting

Pivot Term Filtering Bug and Student Schedule Dimension Enhancement (SIS-144231)

A bug was preventing pivots from properly filtering by term. This issue was corrected.

Additionally, the logic for the Student Schedule dimension within the Pivot Designer tool has been improved to include records for students that have dropped course/sections any point during a term. Previously, only course/sections records for which a student had a null roster end date were included.

Test Detail Updates (SIS-157229) [Enhancement]

Test Setup Required Validation Error (SIS-157363)

Attendance

Positive Attendance Import Wizard (SIS-150117)

When using the Positive Attendance Import Wizard, the Out Time value can now be the same time as the In Time value for a different record. This matches the logic when entering a manual positive attendance record.

When using the Test Mode, the results are now the same as when doing the actual import.

Consecutive Absence Report - Performance Optimization, Logic Update (SIS-156107)

The query used to return attendance data for the Consecutive Absence Report has been optimized for performance.

This optimization also includes a change to what is considered a consecutive absence.

  • Previous to this change, a student could be present at the beginning of period 1, then check out for the rest of the day. Logic required an attendance mark in each of the periods to be considered a consecutive absence.
  • With this update, logic compares the number of absent minutes with the number of instructional minutes in the day. Meaning, the student needs to be absence for EVERY minute of the day for the entered number of consecutive day in order to be considered consecutively absent.

Multi-Score: Rapid Scoring Auto-Fill (SIS-133736)

Previously, when using Rapid Scoring in the multi-score editor to enter scores with decimal places, a 0 after the decimal place was auto-filled too quickly. This has been corrected.

Student Profile (SIS-151784) [Enhancement] 

Teachers can now access the Student Profile from the Teaching Center by clicking on a student's name to view details. The Profile includes contact information, schedule, grades, attendance, in-progress grades, behavior, and a To Do list.

A new feedback option has been added to the Classroom tool. Additionally, a Calendar icon has been added to the Campus Student/Parent view of Classroom, which routes to the calendar tool. Additional bug fixes and cosmetic improvements have also been made.

Campus Learning

Release Scores and Progress Monitor Improvements (SIS-147714) [Enhancement] 

A new option has been added to Assignments that allows teachers to schedule when scores are released to students and parents. This option allows teachers to score assignments over time and make all of the scores available at the same time, such as with a test or essay that may take longer to score. Score release settings are established on individual assignments in the Release Scores section of the Section Setting area. The default setting is to release scores on Save, making them available to students and parents immediately. Otherwise, teachers can select a date and time at which scores will be released. Release dates can be managed anywhere teachers can view assignment details. In tools such as the Grade Book or Progress Monitor, the view can be filtered to calculate In-Progress grades based on all scored assignments or only those whose scores have been released.

In addition to Release Scores, significant improvements have been made to the Progress Monitor, which now displays assignments aligned to Grading Tasks as well as Standards. Other updates include:

  • Added eye icon that hides all other students for easy conference view.
  • Upgraded student search to allow teachers to page through individual students in the search results.
  • Moved the Unscored, Missing, and Submissions filters to a unified filter menu where teachers can create their own custom filters as well.
  • Added access to the Multi-Post tool to post grades right from the Progress Monitor.
  • Added a Score button which opens a Grade Book side panel to simplify scoring multiple assignments.

In-Progress Grades in Campus Student/Parent (SIS-144756)

Previously, if a teacher set a Grading Task to No Calculation for a task or standard after In-Progress grades had already been calculated, the In-Progress grades still displayed in Campus Student/Parent. This has been corrected.

Summary Tab Display of Student State ID (SIS-154832) [Enhancement] 

The student's State ID now displays on the Counseling, Health, PLP, and ILPA (Kentucky districts only) Summary Tabs in the Classic View, matching the other summary tabs of General, Response to Intervention and Special Education.

Note that this correction only applies to the Classic View. In the New Look of Campus, there is only one location for the Summary tool.

Contact Log Display Updates (SIS-155549)

Several visual updates have been made to the Contact Log, including:

  • The Details column on the Contact Log list screen has been updated to display a max of 256 characters and utilizing an ellipsis (...) to indicate more text is available than what is displayed on the list screen. The full text displays on the detail screen.
  • The width of the buttons on the side panel have been updated.
  • An issue with the loading ellipsis (...) displaying even after the student's Contact Log has loaded has been fixed.

End of Life Banner Added to Data Health Check (SIS-156164) [Enhancement] 

The Data Health Check tool will be retired and replaced with the Data Validation Report after summer 2023.

Ed-Fi Term Descriptor Overrides Updates (SIS-144520)

The Term Descriptor Overrides section in the Sessions resource preferences has been updated to include a dropdown field for each term in which the course or section is scheduled.

The Sessions Override logic in the Sessions resource has been updated to report the individual terms within the override for the course.

The sessionReference field in the Course Offerings resource has been updated to report the sessions of each term the section is scheduled into when the term descriptor override is selected.

The Grading Periods resource has been updated to ensure the Grading Periods sent match the references that were sent in the Sessions resource.

A resync on the Course Offerings, Courses, Grades, Grading Periods, Sections, Sessions, and Student Section Associations resources needs to be completed with this update.

Ed-Fi Delete Tool Update for Student Parent Associations (SIS-157230)

Enrollments

Enrollment Cleanup Wizard (SIS-145062) (SIS-157633) [Enhancement] 

In addition to deleting enrollments in future calendars for students who are no longer attending a school, the Enrollment Cleanup Wizard now includes an option to update the start dates of enrollment records and other start dates tied to the enrollment start date in future calendars, like transportation dates, 9th grade entry dates, etc.

Note that districts linked to a State Edition may need to perform a Resync State Data in order to see these enrollment changes.

Fee Billing Batch Report Update for Exempt Fees (SIS-155832)

When a fee is marked as EXEMPT, it now prints "EXEMPT" and the course to which the fee is tied on the Fee Billing Batch Report and on the student's Fee Statement.

Update for Voiding Fee Payments (SIS-156509)

Online payments can now be made void via the Fees tool or Fee Wizard without displaying an error. A new message was added to the Fees tool and the Fee Wizard for online payments that gives users the option to void the payment (and deposit the payment into the student's surplus) or cancel which allows users to refund the payment through the Payments Reporter. Online payments made void via the Fees tool or Fee Wizard are now labeled "Fee Surplus" in the Payments Reporter to indicate the payment was added to the student's fee surplus.

Total Due and Fee Balance on Parent Portal (SIS-156743)

FRAM Letter Batch Update (SIS-119245)

When a household had more than 7 or 8 students, the FRAM Letter was not including the names of the additional students in the "Students in Household" section. This issue was corrected. Now if the number of students exceeds the width of the page, the names will wrap and display on the next line.

California - Class Rank for State Specific GPAs (SIS-155940)

When generating a transcript for a student that included California specific GPA calculations, the Class Rank was incorrectly displaying when the student's enrollment end status and class rank excluded logic was correctly marked. This has been corrected.

Including Class Rank on transcripts takes into account the Class Rank Exclude option on the student's Enrollment record, the Exclude from GPA/Class Rank on the Grade Level Setup, and the existence of an End Date and End Status with a value that is NOT 1, and the selection of GPA/Class Rank Calculation Options on the Transcript Report Preferences.

Kansas - 2022-23 Reporting Updates (SIS-156081)

The following updates have been made to the KIDS Collection Reports:

  • The Version field on the Report Headers has been updated to 18.0. This has also been updated on the KCAN and TASC Extracts.
  • The American College Testing (ACT) Assessment and ACT WorkKeys Assessment fields have been removed.
  • The Language Instruction Education Program Type field now reports when the ESOL/Bilingual Program Participation Code has a value of 1, 2, 3, *6* (new logic) or 7.
  • The Student's Street Address field now allows slashes ( / ), periods ( . ) and pound ( # ) characters.
  • The Grade field reports a value of 02 when the State Grade Level is 04 and the Primary Disability field is WD. Otherwise, the grade level reports the mapped State Grade Level.
  • PLP logic is no longer used in reporting Primary Disability Indicator. WD only reports when the disability was active on the last day of the entered date range on the report editor, based on the active SPED State Reporting Record or on the active IEP record.
  • Residence of Homeless reports only when the homeless start date is before or equal to the entered To date on the extract editor and the end date is blank, equal to or after the calendar start date.

Also, Dyslexia Screening codes have been updated. Code 02 is now Acadience (DIBELS), and there is a new Code 06: iReady.

New Result Statuses can be used when reporting the History/Government Assessments. New codes 05: Student refused to test and 06: Student exempt from testing can be added. See the History/Government Assessment Setup article below for details.

The check box within the Education Plan editor identifying that this IEP includes secondary transition information has not been checked." When that field is marked, all available fields display.

A new Special Education State Reporting tool is available for New Jersey districts. This tool allows users to store and manage Special Education state reporting data without having to modify the student's education plan.

In addition to a Start Date and End Date, the following fields can be populated from this new tool:

  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing - identifies a preschool student as being deaf or hard of hearing
  • Language Acquisition - rates a student's level of language due to their deaf/hard of hearing status

The SMART SID Management Extract has been updated to include these new fields.

On the student's Graduation record, the following changes were made:

Tennessee - EIS Batch Transmission Updates (SIS-153648)

The following updates have been made to EIS files:

  • 044 Student Classification
    • Updated logic for Residential Mental Health to include State Classification codes of K-IN and K-OUT.
    • Added a new Classification type of GIFT
  • 049 Student Attendance
    • Added new attendance code logic for Distance Learning and Homebound.
  • 041 Student Enrollment
    • Updated record version to 04.
    • Added new Immunization Record and Number of Years of EL Services fields.
    • Updated filler field to 19 characters.

The following fields have also been updated:

  • New codes of A, S, B, and H have been added to the Teaching Method field on Courses and the Teaching Method Override field on Sections; code 0 has been deactivated. (Scheduling > Courses > Course > Teaching Method, Section > Teaching Method Override)
  • Renamed the Start Status of E2. (Student Information > General > Enrollments > Start Status)

Texas-2022-2023 Updates (SIS-154657)

The following changes have been made for the 2022-2023 school year:

  • Updated the value for the Financial Aid Application Code 02 to 'Exception submitted/Opt-Out'
  • Updated the Post-Secondary Certification Licensure Result Code
    • If type = endorsement functionality will remain the same
    • If type = certification status will display the following values:
      • 01: IBC Earned
      • 02: IBC Examination passed
      • 03: IBC Examination Failed
  • Added a Dyslexia Screening Exception Reason Code field

Utah – SIF State Reporting 2022-2023 Updates (SIS-154995)

The following fields were added to the Additional Actions section of the Behavior Resolution Details editor:

Virginia

Virginia Positions and Exits Collection Update (SIS-156901)

Report logic on the Virginia Positions and Exits Collection has been updated that when the Extract Type is EOY, staff report when their License Number on their District Employment is populated as well as having a Title code populated. Staff do not report if their License Number is blank. For the Fall Extract Type, report logic has NOT been changed.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Student Section Associations and Grades Resource Updates for Standards (SIS-145002)

A ‘Final’ checkbox has been added to Grading Tasks and Standards for classes that are standards only and still need to be reported.

The Grades resource preferences have been updated to only list standards that are marked as 'State Reported' and 'Final' in the Rubrics column.

The Grading Tasks/Standards field in the Grading Periods resource preferences has been updated to list Standard values that are mapped to an Ed-Fi code in the Grades resource preferences.

The resync/trigger logic in the Student Section Association and Grades resources has been updated to send records for students that have a state reported grading task with a term mask checked or a standard marked ‘State Reported’ and ‘Final’.

A resync needs to be completed in the Grades and Student Section Associations resources if a district maps a standard.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi 2022-23 School Year Updates (SIS-153595)

The following updates have been made for Ed-Fi reporting in the 2022-23 school year:

  • The Section Student Detail tool has been enabled for recording Attempt Status Override, Dual Enrollment and World Language data for individual students in a course section.
  • The Attempt Status Override and Dual Enrollment fields in the Walk-In Scheduler and Roster Batch Edit have been made read-only.
  • The Student Section Associations resource has been updated to report from the new Student Section Detail tool.
  • The Detailed Ancestry/Tribal Codes drop-down list has been updated to limit the selection of Tribal Affiliations to only one code while allowing multiple Ancestry codes.
  • The Student Education Organization Associations resource has been updated to report non-binary gender and SATA has been removed from the studentCharacteristicDescriptor array.
  • The Get Ed-Fi tool had been updated to send Non-binary gender.
  • 'Compassion Exit' (CE) has been added to the Exit Type list and 'Prior Completion Credential' (PCC) has been removed from the list.
  • The Unknown FRAM Eligibility checkbox has been added to Enrollments. The logic in the Student School Food Service Program Associations resource has been updated to send if the new Unknown FRAM Eligibility is checked or unchecked.
  • The World Language standard attribute/dictionary list on Course, Section, and Section Student Detail has been updated.
  • The State Service Types list has been updated in the EL Service Types tool and Student Language Instruction Program Associations.
  • The Language of Instruction field has been enabled on the Course and Section tools.
  • The Sections resource and resource preferences have been updated to report from the new Language of Instruction field.
  • The Student Program Associations resource has been updated to report for Learning Modality.
  • The PI-1563 Pupil Count has been updated to include a new Choice Program Participant Indicator column when the Choice Identifier Report checkbox is marked for the Detail Format Attendance Audit.

The Wisconsin ISP has been completely rewritten with the New Look of Campus. The Classic ISP can still be used at this time. The new print format for the ISP is now WI ISP 2022 (current new).

Wisconsin Evaluation Updates (SIS-156427)

Several updates have been made to the different Wisconsin Special Ed Evaluation types. Updates to the Referral include:

  • a new print format, WI Referral 2022, is now available.
  • verbiage on the (R-1) Referral to SPED has been updated.

Updates to the Existing Data Review include:

  • a new print format, WI Existing Data Review 2022, is now available.
  • the (ED-1) Academic Achievement editor has been renamed to (ED-1) Existing Data Review. Verbiage on this editor has also been updated.
  • the (ED-1) Functional Performance editor has been removed and the fields from this editor have been combined with the (ED-1) Existing Data Review editor.
  • the print (ED-1) Team Participants section has been updated to display in a table format.

Updates to the Evaluation Report include::

  • a new print format, WI Eligibility Report 2022 is now available.
  • verbiage on the (ER-1) Info from Existing Data, (ER-1) Additional Assessments, (ER-1) Need for Specially Designed Instruction, and (ER-1) Eligibility Determination editors has been updated.

Wyoming – SIF StudentSectionEnrollment Updates (SIS-154901)

For the scenario where a student is enrolled into the same course section more than one time, logic for the following StudentSectionEnrollment elements as been updated to account for this:

  • StudentSectionEnrollment/EntryDate will report the student's section enrollment Start Date.
  • StudentSectionEnrollment/ExitDate will report the student's section enrollment End Date.
