Report Logic
The last building in a district where a student was enrolled and where discipline action was administered is required to report a record for the student on the Student Discipline extract. This means that even if a student is enrolled in a different district at the end of the year, the building and district in which the event occurred and discipline action was taken is still responsible for reporting a record.
A record is reported for each individual incident in which the State Resolution Code is 1-4, 6 or 7. If students have multiple Identity records, only one record reports per student based on their most recent identity.
Generating the Extract
- Select the Student Discipline (GD) Extract Type.
- Select the proper Reporting Period.
- Enter the Date Range in mmddyy format or by clicking the calendar icon and selecting a date. These fields will auto-populate with the recommended date range based on the Reporting Period selected.
- Select the Format. For submission to the state, select the State Format (Fixed width). To review data prior to state submission, select any of the other available formats.
- Select which calendar(s) to include within the extract.
- Select an Ad hoc Filter to only report students included in the filter.
- Click Generate Extract to generate the report in the indicated format or Submit to Batch to schedule when the report will generate. If generating multiple extracts at a time (after Campus.1921), requests can only be submitted to the Batch Queue.
Users have the option of submitting an Ohio Student Discipline report request to the batch queue by clicking Submit to Batch instead of Generate Extract. This process will allow larger reports to generate in the background, without disrupting the use of Campus. For more information about submitting a report to the batch queue, see the Batch Queue article.
