Cross-Site Enrollment is a set of tools that allows students to take classes in other schools in the district if that class is not offered at their school. Students have a primary enrollment in their own "Home School" and a partial enrollment in the other "Serving School." Check out these videos and articles for more information about Cross-Site Enrollments and how to set them up:
Course Masters - Required for Cross-Site
To use Cross-Site Enrollment, a district must be using Course Masters. When using Course Masters, course data and sometimes grading setup are managed at the district level and the same catalog of course masters is made available to any schools in the district. Course Masters are required for Cross-Site Enrollment because it creates a shared catalog of courses and consistent course information between schools that a student may attend.
Managing Grading Between Serving and Home Schools
When a Cross-Site enrollment connection is created for a student to take a course at a Serving School, a read-only version of a course record is created at the Home School. The course record exists for informational purposes only; fields on the record are not editable. The Cross-Site icon displays at the top of the Course Information tool. Because this course record is representative of a course at the Serving School, course grading tools are not available, including Course Standards, Course Grading Tasks, Course Categories, Course Grade Calc Options, and the Curriculum Planner.
The Serving School, which provides the Cross-Site course to the student, is the source of truth for grades and scores. Grades and scores are not entered for the Cross-Site course at the Home School.
Mapping tools to link grade data from the Serving School with the tasks, standards, score groups, and rubrics used by the Home School will be available in a future release.
Viewing Grades for Cross-Site Courses
Users at a student's Home school can view grades from the Serving school in the Grades tool.
Grades for the students primary enrollment at the Home school display first, followed by grades for the partial enrollment at the Serving school at the bottom of the tool indicated by the Cross-Site icon.
