EXAM-1: Student Participation in the SAT Reasoning Test or ACT

Instructions:  Enter the number of students in grades 9-12 who participated in (i.e., took) the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT), the ACT Test (ACT), or both, regardless of whether they received valid scores on the tests during the Regular School Year.

Category Mapping: Grade Levels,  Regular School Year IDEA Students, Regular School Year EL Students

Grade Levels: Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 

Skip Logic: Skip for all schools that do not offer Grades 9, 10, 11, 12.

Logic

Report the distinct total number of students who took the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT), ACT Test (ACT) or both.

  • Count students who have an Assessment record with a Date in the reporting school year.

      -  Assessment must have a National Code = ACT or SAT.
      -  Assessment date must overlap with the reporting year. Use 7/1/xx to 06/30/xx for school year dates.
      -  Only count the student once if they have multiple assessment records that meet the reporting criteria.

  • Use the Regular School Year Enrollment, Gender & Race/Ethnicity logic to determine if a student is eligible to report.
  • The students CRDC Grade Level must be = Grade 9, 10, 11, or 12.
  • Only count students in the EL and IDEA data elements if they are selected and saved in the Regular School Year IDEA Students and/or Regular School Year EL Students category mappings.
Report "0" if there are no students that meet the reporting criteria.
In the question detail screen, an override column will be next to the results with a text box to select a value.

Detail Report Logic will display the following information:

  • Year, NCES School Number, School Name, Students PersonID, State ID, Name, Grade Name, ACT, SAT, IDEA, EL.


 

EXAM-2a: Student Participation in Advanced Placement (AP) Exams - Students who took AP Exams - For 2017-2018 Version Only

Instructions: Enter the number of students in grades 9-12, as specified. Include ungraded high school age students in the count. Report a cumulative count based on the Regular School Year.

Category Mapping: N/A

Grade Levels: Grades 9, 10, 11 12 

Skip Logic: Skip for all schools that do not offer Grades 9, 10, 11 12. Do not skip if question APIB-3 is = Yes.


 

EXAM-2b: Student Participation in Advanced Placement (AP) Exams - Students who did not take AP Exams - For 2017-2018 Version Only

Instructions: Enter the number of students in grades 9-12, as specified.  Include ungraded high school age students in the count.  Report a cumulative count based on the Regular School Year.
