Tool Search: Dependent Care Dashboard
This guide explains how to create a new Dependent Care session.
Before you start
This step is the first step in creating a dependent care session.
- Dependent Care billing preferences have been set.
- Tool Rights statement (we need to add a reusable tool rights statement here and links to the tool rights catalog)
Create a Consistent Day Schedule of Dependent Care
Consistent Day Schedules are designed to provide care before and/or after school. Students are expected to attend dependent care on set schedule, such as before school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
From the Dependent Care Dashboard, click New.
Enter the Session Name.
Select 'consistent' as the Schedule Type.
Enter the Session Start Date. This is the first day care is offered.
Enter the Session End Date. This is the last day care is offered.
Select Exclusion Dates for days when care is not offered, such as non-school days or holidays.
Enter the Federal Tax ID.
Select the Minimum number of days required to attend session.
Select the Site where care is offered.
Click Add Site to add additional sites for the session. Parents will be able to select which site they want to have their students scheduled in.
(Optional) Enter the Max Students. This will be used to track the number of registered students and available spaces for each section and timeslot.
Click Save & Next to advance to Step 2: Charges & Discounts.
Create a Non-School Day (NSD) Session of Dependent Care
Non-School Day sessions are designed to provide care for the entire day when school is not in session, such as in-service or teacher workdays.
From the Dependent Care Dashboard, click New.
Enter the Session Name.
Select "Non-School Day" as the Schedule Type.
Enter the Session Start Date. This is the first day care is offered that parents can register for.
NSD Sessions can be created in different grouping options based on billing preferences. If there are multiple days in a month, such as Veterans Day and Thanksgiving in November that would be registered and billed together, a session can be created for the month of November.
If billed separately, then created separate sessions.
Enter the Session End Date. This is the last day care is offered that parents can register for.
Select Exclusion Dates for days when care is not offered, such as holidays.
Enter the Federal Tax ID.
Select the Site where care is offered.
Click Add Site to add additional sites for the session. Parents will be able to select which site they want to have their students scheduled in.

Click Save & Next to advance to Step 2: Charges & Discounts.
